Seems like pings aren’t working properly with WordPress 2.0… odd. I’ll have to keep playing with it. Appreciate any comments if other people are having this issue.
I’m trying svn now, to see if it fixes anything..

A tcpdump shows that the pings are being sent to pingomatic properly, and it’s responding that the pings are being forwarded to 16 sites.. however, I’m not seeing those sites coming back and hitting my site for the update. Weird!
