With dual-port 6gbit, it should be ok. With single-port, I was concerned. Certainly would talk to ppl who have done it first.

Good plan! :) If I were building another one, I'd check out the dual-port SAS2 expanders.. if fully compatible, would rock.

Yeah.. about 6 are the config I posted about; the others have Adaptec controllers.. stick with LSI if you can. ;)

Expanded as in external drive chassis? No.. however, we have ~20 total nodes now. We're a SaaS provider; lots of VMs + DBs
