I've received quite a few requests over the years from people wondering if I am available to do consulting work for their project. While I was working for my previous employer, I would refer these requests to them, as I was busy enough, and it could've been seen as a conflict of interest. However, with my new employer, I am available for a limited amount of consulting, depending on what business you are in (there are a few conflict-of-interest issues; primarily that I can't do work for most localized media companies.) I have expertise in the following areas (well, plus more - see my resume):
- IPSec / L2TP / VPN (primarily under Linux, but also interop'ing with other equipment.)
- General Linux administration / best practices / etc.
- Cisco networking
- Network design
- Load balancing
- Disaster Recovery
- Much more...
If you are interested in having me do some work for you, please drop me (Nate Carlson) an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org, and let me know what you're looking for. Also, if you could prefix the subject your message with 'CONSULTING:', I will be much more likely to see it in a timely manner.
You can also reach me at: 612-326-3650. Please leave a message - I will get back to you ASAP.
I also have a fax line available at: 651-925-0095.
