I just clean and trim it, toss it in a dish with some Zesty Italian dressing, cover with plastic wrap, and nuke to al dente. Fast, easy, and oh so tasty.

Try a bit of garlic with it next time too - fresh if possible :) Garlic + olive oil + kosher (or our preferred sea) salt… mm, so good :) The kids will inhale that stuff!

The frozen stuff is… ok. It usually ends up a little stringy, but not too bad. It’s better than no asparagus, but not nearly as good as fresh!

How do you like the frozen stuff? I’ve not tried it… I go for the fresh but often the fresh stuff available at the grocery is really thick - like small trees. I like ’sparagus like I like my womens - soft, skinny and less than $1 a pound.

I agree.. Tiff likes it that way for some weird reason, though.

I have a hunch that broiling+olive oil would result in about the same yumminess as my technique. ;)

Sweet. I usually broil it, throwing in olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

mush == bad! even the color goes bad if you cook it too long.

The PowerVault 660F is a Mylex FFX controller. The firmware at LSI works up to version 8.4. All the later firmware versions are for FFX-2 controllers.

There is also software available at http://www.sli-consulting.com/products_software.htm called X-DAM 2 that is an alternative to eArray Director. It looks much worse, but has additional features.

Also, the later firmware downloads include a Global Array Management system that works with the 660F. This provides in OS status of the SAN including SNMP, this is the most professional of the software, but can’t configure the RAID.

wpa_supplicant is supposed to be started with the ‘ifupdown.sh’ script. On my machine, this:

# Wireless ipw3945 card
iface eth1 inet dhcp
wpa-conf /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf

..will start it with the proper config file when I run ‘ifup eth1′.

I was hoping someone would have already asked this but where is the wpa_supplicant startup line?

I’m not that new to Linux so I was expecting to find it with a bit of Google and trial and error but got nothing.

# locate wpa_supplicant
/etc/wpa_supplicant
/etc/wpa_supplicant/functions.sh
/etc/wpa_supplicant/ifupdown.sh
/sbin/wpa_supplicant
( and some docs/man pages)

None of the above are any good. I also had a look at other network config files such as /etc/network/interfaces but again, nothing. If it matters, the interfaces file already specifies the wext driver and wireless works, it just needs a restart to the networking daemon every hard boot and that is where the ioctl[IPW_IOCTL_WPA_SUPPLICANT]… warning is given.
