Got it working. I decided to try building the Intel driver module myself, and it does all work if you do the steps in the right order. The fun part was in the middle when I had no network access and IPMIview decided not to work…

Glad to hear you got it working!

If you have one of the 1U Nehalems with integrated IPMI (look at your hardware page, and see if it says “Integrated IPMI”, ask for the firmware update for IPMI.. it makes IPMIView work much better. If they say “huh”, I can look up the ticket number for you that has the info. ;)

I’m trying to install OepnVZ on CentOS 5.3 on my new Nehalem server at SoftLayer, and I’ve been stuck in this situation for more than two weeks, and too busy to spend the time building and testing the drivers. I’ll give your RPM a whirl today. :)
